The exercise starts with a group work that will seek the organization by geometric rules of a plot in the bay of Santander, where a research center will be established. That one will focus on the study, análisis and divulgation of the grounds and solutions of marine pollution of anthropic origin.
Due to the programmatic variety of the project, an assesment reflection that leads to the idea of nucleus and radiation is carried out. The most expansive and optimising shape, THE CIRCLE. This figure will become the central axis of the whole complex always turning around three large programmatic cores: teaching + research, shared service areas (library, assembly hall and cafeteria) and residential area.
Within the overall project, the research and production laboratory building has been developed indiviadually. The value of the project is found in the diversity of spatial situations that occur both in plant and in section. The space is always fluid and dynamic, within the building itself, but also in relation to the rest of the complex.
As in natural processes, shapes are clonic, but they are grouped together in different ways producing varied spatial solutions. The circle has such a strong formal character that itself generates the formal and conceptual unity of the project.
